WESTCONSIN CREDIT UNION BEGINS CONSTRUCTION IN EAU CLAIRE

WESTconsin Credit Union held a ceremonial ground breaking on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 to announce the construction of a new 12,000 square foot facility at 1111 West Clairemont Avenue. The project is expected to be finished by summer 2012. La Macchia Group, a Milwaukee-based firm and leader specializing in strategic planning, brand development, architectural design and construction, created the design and is managing the construction. The firm will be working with many local construction-services companies throughout the duration of the project.

“We are thrilled to begin building our twelfth WESTconsin Credit Union office here in Eau Claire,” stated Dave Maves, WESTconsin’s Board Chairperson. “This location offers greater convenience for our members who reside in the area, as well as provides us with much future growth potential.” Company CEO, Greg Lentz, added, “the design is very warm and welcoming, and includes a unique approach to quality member service called dialogue banking. Our research indicates that Eau Claire is an ideal market for us to introduce this concept, and we are eager to determine receptiveness.” Dialogue banking removes a traditional teller-line and replaces it with multiple “pod” stations. Pods enable a person to be more engaged with their financial business by placing them side by side with a teller.

Plans of the state-of-the-art facility combine the latest in credit union member service technology with a Northwood’s feel focusing on sustainable design initiatives that are environmentally friendly, ultimately saving the credit union operating costs. According to Dave Throndson, La Macchia Group’s Vice President of Business Development, “geothermal heating and cooling, a living wall, LED exterior lighting, light harvesting, and high performance glazing are a few of the “green” building features being incorporated with this office.” Members of the Eau Claire community and surrounding area will have access to all of the resources WESTconsin Credit Union has to offer; including financial seminars held in a multi-use community room, and many others.
